The full story

Overview
A European technology company offers an open platform that helps water utilities find, measure and fix leaks. We are building a mobile app that works alongside it.
- Industry: Water & Energy
- Date: 2026
- Service: Mobile app engineering
- Platform: Mobile app, working with a web platform
The challenge
Water utilities lose a lot of treated water to leaks, and this lost water is often called non-revenue water. A leak-management platform gives utilities data and priorities. But leak work happens in the field, so the insight needs to be close to the people doing it.
The platform is open and modular. Any app that works with it has to respect that design, and has to fit the way each utility works.
What we set out to do
- Bring the platform's leak-management insight to a mobile app
- Keep the app consistent with the platform's identity and data
- Make the app simple for people who use it outdoors, often with limited time
What we did
We design and build the mobile app as an engineering partner to the platform owner. The two teams agree on the app's name, branding and how it refers to the platform, so that it is clear to users who built what.
We work in the way we describe in our Delivery Playbook: shared goals, small steps, regular releases and engineer review of every change, including AI-assisted ones.
Where it stands
The project is in progress. We are not publishing results yet. We will add measured outcomes here once the client has approved them.
